The Pre-Analytical Phase
Accuracy starts with the drawing method. Using the correct tubes (containing different anticoagulants) is crucial. After drawing, a unique barcode is placed on your tube to ensure your sample doesn't mix with any other patient's. The blood components are then separated using a centrifuge to obtain clear serum.
Analysis and Strict Quality Control
The sample enters advanced automated analyzers. However, the result is not approved immediately; the lab technician runs standard "quality control samples" daily to ensure the machines are reading 100% correctly. If the machine passes, the patient's result is approved, undergoing review by a lab specialist before being sent to the doctor.

Why is a sample rejected and the lab asks for a redraw?
This happens to ensure your safety. If blood cells break (Hemolysis) during drawing or clotting, the sample will give false results. We prefer redrawing over giving an incorrect result.
Are rapid results accurate?
Yes, modern technology allows machines to run thousands of tests per hour with extreme precision. Speed does not come at the expense of accuracy.
